Depending on the hospital where the procedure is performed, and on the complexity of the procedure, a colonoscopy can reasonably be expected to cost S$ 2,000 – S$ 4,000 (US$ 1,500 – US$ 2,900) in Singapore.
*All costs are estimates obtained from the 50th and 90th percentile bill sizes compiled by the Ministry of Health (link)
Why the range?
1. Colonoscopies cost more at private hospitals than at government hospitals
2. The more experienced specialists naturally have higher fees
3. Some patients may require more complex procedures
For instance, a colonoscopy at Raffles Hospital that does not require polyp removal usually costs $2,021. However, a colonoscopy that requires the removal of polyps with histology may cost $3,510 or more.
Most colonoscopies are performed as day cases. Costs obviously go up if the patient chooses to stay overnight in the hospital.
Will insurance cover my colonoscopy?
It really depends on the patient's condition.
If you are unsure, email us the name of your insurer and your policy type and we will help you check the coverability and claims procedure.
Why do most of our clients choose to go to a private hospital?
Many of our clients prefer private hospitals for their colonoscopy because of shorter waiting times and more personal care. Besides, for a colonoscopy, private hospitals are not substantially more expensive than the government hospitals.
